Honestly the problem is just too big. I do think that there will be a co-ordinated global response, with hundreds of billions spent on combating climate change.

Unfortunately I don’t think that’s going to happen until we have a truly terrifying event. Summer wildfires and heatwaves aren’t enough. Some kind of wet bulb event that kills millions maybe, or multiple unprecedented tsunami’s. In general people only respond to threats when they are immediate and dramatic. You can’t motivate enough people with future abstraction, It has to be something that makes the citizens of every G12 country realise simultaneously “that’s going to happen here”.
